My Serious Addiction - I confess!

Hello!
It was so fun to see that I actually have a couple of followers!
What a crack up!
Thank you!...I am flattered!

Sadly,
TODAY
I am making a confession.
I may have to go to Betty Ford's place,
or to the rehab facility that
what's her name (?)
is at, or some other place that deals with
ADDICTION PROBLEMS!
I ADMIT!
I AM AN ADDICT!

I AM ADDICTED TO RECIPES!
AND MAGAZINES!
AND COOKBOOKS!
They are everywhere!
In every room.
In every nook and cranny.
In baskets.
On tables.
On shelves.
On the floor.
On my desk.
On John's desk.
In Toulouse.
At Petit.
In the laundry room.
Outside.
E V E R Y W H E R E !

I have hundreds of past issues of
Bon Appetit
Eating Well
Gourmet
Saveur
Cooking Light
Food and Wine
Food Tv Magazine
(why do I get that magazine when I watch Fo TV all the time?)

<span class=

And I have thousands of recipes torn out of magazines that I did part with.
Many hundreds of torn out recipes are in file folders named
"to be filed"
and many hundreds of recipes
ARE FILED
in really cool binders.
(I use those a lot)
Many many recipes are at
Petit Soleil,
either being used for our
breakfasts
or
appetizers
or
are in file folders named
"to be tried".
<span class=IMG_0619">
I have many magazines simply titled
Appetizers
and
Pillsbury's Best Desserts,
Summer's Best,
Fresh and Easy,
and
A Christmas to Remember

<span class=

This is our coffee table!

<span class=

And these are just a few of my cookbooks!
I cannot resist,
or walk by
a new cookbook
at
Costco,
or
Barnes and Noble
or Borders.
I can't SAY NO!
<span class=

John thought when we moved,
that I would take the hundred of past issues of
Bon Appetit
Food and Wine,
Gourmet,
Saveur
Eating Well and
Cooking Light
to Goodwill or to the library.

I tried!
I really tried!
They made it into cardboard boxes,
but I just knew that I would find
at least
ONE
really good recipe
in each
magazine.
So
I went to World Market
and found
these really cute
boxes
and
I
categorized
most,
not all,
the magazines into themes.

<span class=

Fall
Winter
Spring
Summer
Vegetarian

<span class=

and then
like a true addict,
I get this
urge,
this overwhelming need,
to pull out
my magazines and
go through them
again
and again
and again.

<span class=IMG_0625">
This Cooking Light magazine from 2005
had
some killer
Crab Cake (aka Crabby Patty) recipes
in it,

AND
I found
this recipe
that
I
must
make
with our abundanza
of zucchini
we
have in our garden.
ZUCCHINI WITH RICOTTA-BASIL MOUSSE!
yum
<span class=IMG_0628">
I couldn't get rid of this magazine!
It had great ideas
for appetizers
and cocktails!

<span class=IMG_0629">
And, of course,
I need recipes from Van Gogh's Table,
and
Monet's Table.
Why?

I DON'T KNOW!!!

BECAUSE
I

AM

AN

ADDICT!

<span class=
THEY
SAY,
that the first step to
conquering an
addiction, it to admit to it.
and
they I think there are
six or seven other steps
that
I need to take.
or
maybe I can do it on my own
without Betty's help
or Lindsay's advice
(that's her name)
......
Maybe, I can make this into a
life changing experience..
Maybe I can help others,
feed others,
invite others and share recipes with them?
In the meantime,
while I figure this out, I am going to
go through some
recipes
for dinner!
maybe
ZUCCHINI
BOATS
WITH
RICOTTA -BASIL MOUSSE!
BON APPETIT!

  2. Oh this blog is hilarious because you are describing me! I have thought your words before. I aften battle with myself when I see a new magazine at the store that I do not subscribe to and want to buy. I am so glad to know there is someone else just like me. Maybe we could start a support group? And trade magazines at it?
    Thanks for confessing.
